Cake With Heart
For the red dough you need:

 For the dark dough:

  • 5 eggs
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 200 g butter
  • 180 g of flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla flavor
  • 2 Table spoons of milk
  • 70 g of cocoa powder

For the glaze:

  • 300 g dark chocolate
  • 150 ml of cream

That is how it goes:

  1. First prepare the red cake dough by whisking the eggs and sugar with a hand mixer, add butter, flour, baking powder, vanilla flavor and the red food coloring and knead them together.
  2. Put the dough in a greased tin box, smooth it and bake it at 170 ° C for 50 minutes in a preheated oven. Let it cool down completely afterwards.
  3. Slice the red cake then slice it out with a cookie cutter heart.
  4. Make the dark dough by re-whipping the eggs and sugar with a hand mixer, add butter, flour, baking powder and vanilla flavor and knead with cocoa powder this time.
  5. Fill half of the dough into a box mold and place the red cake hearts edgewise. Fill the mold with the rest of the dough and smooth it.
  6. Bake the cake for 50 minutes at 170 ° C top and bottom heat in the preheated oven and then let it cool completely.
  7. Stir the icing by chopping up the dark chocolate and letting it melt in the cream. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring it over the cake. Finally, refrigerate the cake for half an hour before serving it.



Gingerbread Heart
For that you need:

  • 600 g of flour
  • 20 g of cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp gingerbread spice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g of butter
  • 125 g of sugar
  • 225 g of honey

For frosting:

  • 1 egg white
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon

That is how it goes:

  1. Put the flour, cocoa powder, egg, baking powder, gingerbread spice and pinch of salt in a bowl. Also heat the butter, sugar and honey in a pot.
  2. Put the contents from the pot to the other ingredients in the bowl, knead them together and then let the dough rest for 4 hours.
  3. Roll the dough out about half a centimeter thick and cut it out heart-shaped, which you can do either by hand or with the help of a printed template. Then bake the raw gingerbread heart at 160 ° C for 10 minutes in the preheated oven and allow to cool completely.
  4. Decorate the gingerbread heart with frosting, which you touch with egg whites, powdered sugar and lemon juice. Add some food coloring to the mixture to make the heart more colorful.
